Flannel Friday: Colour Spinner

Inspired by Miss Mary Liberry's version, I made a spinner to use with my Little Mouse/Moose Flannel Game, or any colour based guessing game where you have more participants than colours.

Ten Colour Spinner

Once I started to think about it, I realised that there might be times when I'd only need a few colours, so I made it with interchangeable rings.

Colour Spinner - step-by-step

You can probably tell from the pictures, but I used the following:

  • 3 strong paper plates
  • cardboard (for the spinner arm)
  • paper fastener
  • small washer (to go between the arm and the plate)
  • felt/flannel scraps
  • PVA glue

I was a bit heavy-handed with the glue, and the ring with 4 colours distorted a bit when it dried. It'll be OK if stuck to the base plate, but it doesn't sit neatly on the base like the multi-coloured ring does and makes the whole concept of interchangeable rings somewhat redundant! Oh well!
